Colorectal & Robotic Surgery
541-345-2205
Maile Parker, MD, enjoys practicing the full spectrum of colon and rectal surgery. She is a strong believer in evidence-based medicine, and enjoys the process of partnering with patients to come up with treatment plans that best fit their goals.
Dr. Parker grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and earned her medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine in 2013. She completed her residency in general surgery and fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Her expertise is in the surgical management of colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), anorectal diseases such as hemorrhoids and anal fistula, diverticulitis, pelvic floor disorders, and other diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. She is trained in robotic surgery, and enjoys applying a minimally invasive approach to most abdominal operations. She also performs screening and diagnostic colonoscopy.
I had a colonoscopy by Dr. Parker, and I must say the level of professionalism and courtesy demonstrated by her and her team was truly impressive, it was my first one of those procedures, and frankly we all know it is not one of the most glamorous procedures one can have. They all made this experience so smooth and that means a lot in this day and age where sometimes bedside manner is just absent.
